FIRST AIM THE CLUBFACE, THEN ALIGN YOUR SHOULDERS

This method of aiming the clubface, then aligning your body to the target line is very precise, and it produces very accurate golf shots.  You cannot hit the ball as accurately if you first take your stance, then aim your clubface at the target.

Standing behind the ball, pick out an irregularity in the turf a few feet in front of the ball that lines up with the target.  When you address the ball, aim your clubface at this turf irregularity.  Finally, line up your feet, hips, and shoulders down the target line.
